It's not just the generation living online. Parenting skills have shifted over the years... I witnessed a two-year-old being "asked" to comply (over and over) for everything from pulling hair to staying dressed in public. Of course there was a lot of wasted breath, but the parents seemed to believe sooner or later this method would pay off. It hasn't... It's only gotten worse and it's exhausting to witness.
